Working Age

Given a full range of daily supplements, Ebbey is still working at nine years of age.

Since it takes 18 - 24 months, training should begin when the dog is still a pup. This ensures five or six good working years from a search dog. However, dogs should not be deployed until their bones are fully grown around 18 months.
