Ebbey the Search Dog on a Mountain Summit

A search dog works on or off leash depending on the type of searching they are doing.

Often tracking from a scent article, Ebbey works on a long leash. Her tracking focus can be so intense that she has tried tracking scent off a cliff. It's this intensity that makes her such a good search dog.

Ebbey's also not always good on recall. This is when an off leash search dog returns to their handler after finding a victim. Once she finds a victim alive, especially a child, Ebbey refuses to leave them alone.
